Type: Non-basmati, long grain, often parboiled.
▪ Color: Pale yellow or creamy white.
▪ Grain Length: Typically 5.8mm to 6.2mm.
▪ Processing: Commonly parboiled (soaked, steamed, and
dried) to enhance nutrient content.
▪ Specific Quality Parameters:
▪ Moisture Content: Maximum of 14%.
▪ Broken Grains: Maximum of 5%.
▪ Chalky Kernels: Maximum of 4%.
▪ Foreign Matter: Generally negligible, often 0.5% maximum.
▪ Damaged/Discolored Grains: Maximum of 2%.
▪ Red and Red Streaked Kernels: Maximum of 1%.
▪ Cleaning: Often 100% Sortex cleaned for purity.
▪ Milling: Well milled, and can be freshly milled.
▪ Cultivation Type: Can be conventional, natural, or organic if
required.
▪ Admixture: 0.2-0.6% max.
▪ Chalky Kernels: 1.5% max or nil, as agreed upon.
▪ Uric acid: 100mg per kg max.
▪ Other Notes:IR64 rice is known for its good cooking quality,
often resulting in grains that double in size when cooked
properly, according to Vishnu Rice Mill. It has a pleasant
aroma. It’s a popular choice for export, particularly to
African and Gulf countries,
